A Bold Emergence

“A Bold Emergence" is a maximalist’s dream! This collection of five vibrant painted butterflies on canvas. Each butterfly has bold brushstrokes radiating outwards from the center and is featured in the group show “Bold Movement” at Liz Lidgett Gallery.

I wanted to tell a story of transformation with these pieces. Each butterfly has bold brushstrokes radiating outwards from the center. These expressive brushstrokes represents the process of one emerging from a cocoon and becoming their true self fully and authentically. Each butterfly features hand-sewn german glass beads to add a touch of whimsy and of course sparkle.

I had a lot of fun making these one-of-a-kind pieces. I feel like I was able to fully express myself freely without worrying about the end result.
